Daniel shared clips from the Tuesday, November 21, 2023 press conference in which, our co-host, Leonie Haimson, director of Class Size Matters, along with UFT President Michael Mulgrew, co-Executive Director AQE Zakiyah Ansari, along with state and local elected officials, parents and educators held spoke about the DOE’s failures to faithfully implemented the new class size law, outside of Brooklyn Landmark Elementary School in Ocean Hill.

At the press conference, they spoke about how growing class sizes have undermined the quality of education for NYC students.

He also interviewed PS599K Landmark teachers and parents: chapter leader Andrea Castellano, Beruryah Batyehudah, a teacher and parent of a 1st grader in which the class sizes are 29 and 31, and teacher Daniel Highsmith. They discussed the impact oversized classes have in their school community.
