Episode Summary

Daniel spoke with Marianne Pizzitola, President of NYC Retirees about the continued fight to stop the forced enrollment of city retirees into Medicare Advantage and its intersectionality with the city teachers union.

He also sat with Jim Vail, a veteran Chicago educator and union activist who writes for the Second City Teachers blog. This episode is part of Daniel's interview with Vail. In this segment of the interview, we talked about his activism as a writer about the Chicago public schools and its teachers union, censorship of his writing and introduced the issue of private equity and its role in teachers' pensions and healthcare.
