Urgent Call To Action: Let CM De La Rosa, Speaker Adams & the City Council Progressive Caucus Know, Today - DO NOT AMEND CODE 12-126
Bill to be introduced, today Jan 4th. Hearings are being planned for the 9th , with a vote on the 19th. Email and call City Council every day. You need to be ready to mobilize for all of those events.
CALL TO ACTION: Today, Wednesday, January 4th, Council Member Carmen De La Rosa will introduce a bill to amend admin code 12-126. She will be doing the bidding of the Mayor, Big Corporate Healthcare, and a handful of establishment union bosses seeking “cost savings” on the backs of the city’s retirees while threatening the premium-free healthcare of all city workers. She is working in cooperation with Speaker Adrienne E. Adams.

Admin code 12-126 is what gives city workers and retirees, equally, a choice of healthcare plans and ensures we all have premium-free healthcare.
Changing the code eliminates the healthcare choices and protections we’ve enjoyed for over 55 years. It also furthers an agenda to further privatize Medicare.
The Common Sense caucus of the City Council has promised to support workers and retirees and now we need the Progressive Caucus to do the same.
Please take five minutes to shoot an email to all the members of the NYC City Council’s Progressive Caucus to NOT AMEND CODE 12-126.

Everyone.
