UFT Winter Coat and Holiday Toy Drives For Our City’s Children -- Donate, Please.
Because all children deserve a happy holiday
Holiday greetings, union family. I want to share two worthy causes being sponsored by the UFT with readers of ‘The Wire’. Please take a moment to donate to both.
Your donations are processed via the UFT and all proceeds go to helping our students in need with coats for the upcoming winter and toys for the holidays.

UFT Thanksgiving Coat Drive
Help take the chill out of winter for New York City students in need by making a donation to the UFT Middle School Division's coat drive.
Your monetary donation will go toward the purchase of new winter coats and accessories (scarves, mittens, gloves and hats) for New York City public school students living in temporary housing.

You can also bring or ship your donations (we can only accept brand-new items) to:

You may also mail a check (made payable to UFT Middle School Thanksgiving Event) to the above address.
You can involve your school community by:
Organizing a winter coat drive (new coats only)
Organizing fundraiser activities
Collecting monetary donations
Organizing a penny drive

Drop off your donations at one of our UFT borough offices or during a Delegate Assembly in November or December.
Purchase an item online and drop it off, or have it shipped to the UFT to arrive by Dec. 15 at:
