On Monday, September 29, the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Delegate Assembly voted overwhelmingly to support the city’s proposed health care plan, the New York City Employees PPO (NYCE PPO).
After hours of debate both the UFT Delegates and the MLC overwhelmingly approved the plan, called union democracy, and in the era of Trump locking down our health plan was extremely important…
The City and MLC can go back to the negotiating table to make changes to the plan as needed during the 5-year term. What has really been "locked down" in this plan, only time will tell. We can all want the new healthcare plan to be successful, while also being clear-eyed and prepared for potential problems that exist within the plan.

So according to this report on the vote, this new plan doesn't affect retired teachers already on Original Medicare?
No, only pre-medicare retirees 55-64.
Thanks!
