This spring, we have a historic opportunity to change the direction of our union, the United Federation of Teachers. We are less than 100 days away from the first ballots being cast in April for the UFT’s citywide elections.

Many in our union family have joined forces into a coalition slate called United For Change that will lead our union to a better tomorrow as a fighting union for us as educators, our students, their families, and school communities.

This is no easy task and it will take all of us to prevail. United For Change is facing Michael Mulgrew’s Unity Caucus, and its machine, which has monopolized the leadership of our union for well over 60 years.

We need your help in organizing and funding our Get Out The Vote campaign. We believe big, unprecedented gains in winning seats for the UFC slate will ensure our union listens to us and truly represents the diverse interests of all of the rank-and-file and our retirees.

We have several upcoming print and social media ad buys in the coming days that will spread the message that CHANGE IS HERE. That a BETTER UNION and STRONGER UNION is within our reach.
